CIARAN MCMEEKEN – SCREAMING MAN
Fresh-faced with a captivating sound, Auckland based singer-songwriter Ciaran McMeeken is excited to announce his brand new EP – Screaming Man – set for release on October 8th 2015!
Recently described by Australian music blog Ear To The Ground as “Adam Levine’s earthy, indie cousin” Ciaran’s honesty makes him stand apart from the pack, with both heartfelt lyrics and a smooth voice lending themselves perfectly to a strong emotional sound that is hard to ignore.
The lead single City, which showcases his soaring vocals and song-writing prowess, is available on iTunes and YouTube. Directed by Anita Ward the video was shot in and around Auckland in various beautiful locations including the breathtaking Woodhill Forest.
Born in Arrowtown and growing up in Dunedin, Ciaran recently moved to Auckland to focus on his music, spending the last two years writing, recording and performing. His debut EP ‘The Valley’ caught the attention of acclaimed producer Greg Haver, who worked with Ciaran to produce the highly anticipated Screaming Man.
Recorded in November 2014 at Roundhead Studios and the Bassment, Screaming Man also includes the single ‘Hold My Hand, Brother’ which won the Volvo Ocean Race ‘Making Waves’ competition, and a re-recorded version of ‘Boy’ from Ciaran’s debut EP.
Taking inspiration from artists such as John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Ben Harper, infusing elements of pop, folk and acoustic in his own sound, with an ever-growing fanbase and a genuine raw talent, Ciaran McMeeken is one to watch.
